CROSSWALK
WARNING SYSTEM
The
lights flash at a rate of once per second
in both directions to draw the motorist's
attention to an occupied crosswalk.
The flashing lights, which outline the crosswalk,
alert motorists of the pedestrians crossing
well in advance of their reaching the crosswalk.
This early warning allows the driver to
slow down and not poise a threat to the
pedestrian.
