Inpavement Crosswalk Warning System

Marlin Controls, Inc. brings you the LightGuard In-Pavement Crosswalk System . The LightGuard is currently the only cost-effective solution that adds an element of safety to your non-signalized crossings, short of installing a traffic signal. In many cases a new traffic signal for a pedestrian crossing would not meet minimum warrants and, therefore, could not even be installed. The LightGuard system is comprised of two rows of amber caution lights embedded in the street and directly in the motorist's line of vision.

The lights flash at a rate of once per second in both directions to draw the motorist's attention to an occupied crosswalk. The flashing lights, which outline the crosswalk, alert motorists of the pedestrians crossing well in advance of their reaching the crosswalk.

This early warning allows the driver to slow down and not poise a threat to the pedestrian.

The LightGuard fixtures are very versatile, In addition to illuminating crosswalks; the in-pavement light fixtures have been extremely effective when used at stop lines in front of fire stations. The LightGuard system, originally designed for airport runway lighting, is extremely durable. The in-pavement light fixtures stand up to the continuous pounding of snowplows and the heaviest of rush hour traffic. In fact, the LightGuard fixtures can even withstand the crushing force of an airplane landing.
